Mulching film solar shrink 12um 0,9x3980m
The main advantages compared to conventional mulches: it is stronger, it adjusts tighter to the ground, and the end farmer will use around +40% less plastic to cover the same surface. Additionally, Solar Shrink proved to be lower price than standard films.
Despite it is x5 times stronger, it also shrinks under the sun light, so it does not flap when it is windy, avoiding any damage to the plants.
Among the many cost-saving advantages (besides the material price):
- Lower transport costs: if I load a truck with standard 40-micron film, I will only need half the truckload of a 20-micron SSM film to transport the same amount of square meters.
- Reduction in environmental taxes, which are calculated per ton, since we reduce the number of kilograms needed to cover the same surface area.
- Lower storage/stock costs due to the reduced space requirements.
- Lower labor costs for installation and removal, as the stronger film reduces time and facilitates these processes.
Other agronomic advantages:
- Greater contact with the soil, increasing heat transfer to the surface and therefore promoting earlier maturity.
- Prevents flapping in windy conditions, reducing or eliminating mechanical damage to the plant, resulting in higher yields.
- Prevents the chimney effect in the perforated area, reducing heat stress on the plant and leading to higher yields.
